GRAMMY Museum — Music Revolution Project
the GRAMMY Museum will launch a new music education program in kansas city this summer called Music Revolution Project… and asked primate design to come up with the identity for it.
we have a new designer on board now, Kenny Sperling, and guess what his first project was? yup, the logo… he passed his initiation into primate design with flying colors… or in this case with cmyk.
here it is:

Details on the program: Showcased at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Missouri, the GRAMMY Museum’s Music Revolution Project will offer 25 of the city’s most creative and gifted musicians the opportunity to engage in musical discourse and performance with other talented young people from their area. Students between the ages of 15 – 23 from genres including classical, jazz, pop, Hip-Hop, folk, sacred and Rock and Roll, will be encouraged to apply to this world-class music academy, created to broaden their musical and creative skill while helping them establish relationships, increase self-esteem, develop entrepreneurial skills and grow their passion for music. The pilot program for this four week summer academy will begin June 18, 2012 and culminate with a formal student concert in mid-July at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Students will participate in music history, theory and composition classes; have one-on-one mentoring sessions with GRAMMY Award nominees or winners and form ensembles with their fellow classmates. The program will pilot with students from Kansas City only in 2012, before expanding to a national reach in 2013. For more information, please visit www.grammymuseum.org/education.
and in the spirit of “we always like our comps too,” here are some of the logos that didn’t make the final cut:
