GRAMMY Museum John Lennon exhibit

the exhibit, John Lennon, Songwriter, is currently up at The GRAMMY Museum in association with Hard Rock International. John Lennon would have been 70-years-old on October 9. as i was brainstorming ideas for the exhibit a couple months ago, i couldn’t stop thinking about his round iconic glasses… after presenting a few logo comps, they had chosen a logotype treatment supplied by Yoko Ono. however, i put together the poster and chose refreshing colors over grayscaled imagery because that’s how i saw John Lennon amidst his landscape.

The exhibition is a tribute to “the seven-time GRAMMY winner’s songwriting genius,” and highlights influences Eddie Cochran, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly, and Elvis Presley, his Quarrymen period, his work with The Beatles, collaborations with Paul McCartney, Lennon’s solo career, and material with Yoko Ono.
