Lather.one Barbershop — featured client.
this feature is long overdue. Lather.one Barbershop has been open now for a year and a half and we were there in the beginning. we sat down with owner, ana hernandez serrato, and brainstormed her vision. starting with their logo…
a mark that reflects a classic modernist feel with a whimsical twist. the streamlined logo and color choices appeal to today’s man. this bold, new-age barber shop fuses jazz and hip hop culture with classic straight razor shave. many years ago the space was used as a barber shop, but in recent years ended up a storage closet for the neighboring Steamer’s Jazz Cafe and Table Ten Restaurant. here is a before and after shot.
today, the new paint scheme cleaned up and brightened the image of the long-forgotten corner on Commonwealth Ave. in Fullerton.
the interior layout. how do you fit 3 barber stations, a waiting area and cash desk into an old closet-sized shop… we found a way.
the logo we created has been used on all communication pieces as well as the large signage gracing the building’s side.
the shop features artwork on a monthly basis, making it a mini gallery of some really great contemporary art. this jazz piece was created by cale (http://doncaleone.blogspot.com) on the day of the opening kick-off party.
we brought the look of the building into the business card. the original print of the business cards featured a spot varnish of bubbles throughout the front and back (hard to see here). since the business card is the primary marketing tool for the barbers, we felt it would be perfect to lend some familiarity with the physical building. just a simple way to brand the little barber shop that no one can forget when they drive by.
we also kept a clean, streamlined look for communication flyers and merchandise.
lather up. the nostalgic straight razor shave and warm towel aftershave with some soothing jazz in the surround sound is what Lather.one Barbershop is all about.
