EIKON Home Essentials — featured client.

this is the perfect example of the love we have for our business and the client relationships that sprout as a result of that love. when you are ingrained in a job, you learn to love it, and inevitably, you become close with it. primate design is very close to EIKON Home in old towne orange.

we were there in the beginning, last May, 2007. John Martelli, the owner of EIKON, came to us for help to bring his life-long idea of owning a retail store to fruition. The store is a combination of unique gifts for the home, from antique treasures to books, greeting cards and candles. We first started with a color scheme and logo…

this was what the store looked like a year and a half ago before we got our hands on it.

and today, it flourishes with the seasons and gets replenished with unique, new gifts as often as they are bought. the shelf life of most merchandise isn’t very long. not even the shelves themselves as most of the furniture is for sale as well…

primate design took the design initiative on every printed piece in the store starting with the logotype, signage, hangtags, picture frame inserts, stationery suite, sales slips, gift boxes, gift certificates, local advertising, announcement postcards, shopping bags, and even things like the ribbon, tissue and seals to wrap merchandise as gifts. this sounds like a lot for a design shop to take on, but a majority of the credit goes to the store owner, John, for his incredible vision.

currently we are working on a Web site that captures the uniqueness EIKON Home has brought to old towne orange. all art direction and photography by brian prince.
