the kids of PÄS (project art school)

what an awesome summer. we finished up all summer kid workshops last week and we had a blast. we made great connections with the kids this summer and are looking forward to a future full of fun art sessions. take a look into what happened this summer (pictures below) and come out tomorrow night (at PÄS Gallery) to see it all on display in “The CAVE.”

all kids classes this summer taught by Kristy were super fun and expressive. projects completed were cityscape paintings, “falling back” perspective drawing, cave painting with oil pastel, eric carle-inspired paint-collage, and story-telling. she also did a one-day class with pam keller and the kids of our sister city Morelia, Mexico with an illusion project.

below is this month’s front cover of the Fullerton Observer.

tomorrow night is the big night!

During the First Friday Downtown Fullerton Art Walk (8/6/2010) you have a chance to come out and see all the work created this summer!

The CAVE is an exhibit from the kids of project art school. it’s about allowing ourselves to be a child, or for some of us, a child again. All kids desire to have a cave to play in, a tree to climb, or a fort to build. The Cave represents childhood or, mankind, at earliest — when we had nothing but the earth and our imagination — when plastic and technology weren’t the norm — when your mom made you go out to play. Welcome to The CAVE.

in addition to the kids art work, come enjoy
