summer block party indie craft show

it was a beautiful warm (no, hot) day in santa ana on july 10th, my birthday, 2010 and i piled my little family of four into the minivan for a trip down the 57. we landed at the fiesta marketplace and ate lunch at the first sight of food — ¡Café Azteca! …

… where we satisfied our tummies with some authentic tacos and flautas. and watched Deutschland take third in the world cup.

across the way was OC Handmade Brigade’s Summer Block Party Indie Craft Show that our friends at the Head Shop told us about. it was great visiting. and shopping. and discovering Brunch! magazine. i walked away with a ‘going downtown fullerton’ t-shirt (even though we were in santa ana. thanks virginia), a Brunch! magazine (thanks brian) and few buttons from our friend, empiricalfiction (thanks christie). oh, and i got a portrait drawn by my favorite charactertureerrrr drawererrr… (thanks jesse).

we walked around a bit and shopped and also met some new friends.
