the Linotype revolutionized printing and society, but very few people know about the inventor or his fascinating machine.
i wish i knew more. and now i have a chance to dig deeper once this film is finished. i’ve attempted to get into old school printing with our Letterpress classes as well as visiting the super fresh International Printing Museum in Carson. i figure if i can keep myself surrounded by typophiles, i may soon become one. stay tuned to project art school for new Calling Card and Wood Type Poster printing workshops…
until then, check out the film: www.linotypefilm.com or buy something from their shop to help fund it! http://linotypefilm.bigcartel.com/
