sweet tooth nhoj – john sollom at mary paxson gallery
we took an adventure to norwalk last friday evening. john (nhoj) sollom filled the mary paxson with his specialties: candy, assemblage (like no other), paintings of his assemblage, and… dogs. i haven’t been to this gallery before and was impressed with the 1400 square feet and the layout. nhoj had at least 50 pieces in the show all variations of his craft. some of it we have seen before, but still can’t get enough, like the Lays potato chips, and the Pez dispensers. and the new assemblage works are getting deeper every time i set eyes on one. in addition to his amazing work, in the atrium there was hagop najarian and mike waters playing a set of everyone’s favorites, and the silver sufferers (jesse la tour and landon lewis) rolled daniel johnston covers to palpitate our hearts.
the exhibit will be up until January 24th. the hours of the gallery are tuesday – friday 3-7p and saturday 11-3p. go!
