Steve Webb – hired gun.
Steve Webb, good friend and creative concept king, is one of the fiercest copywriters in the west. his work covers the largest names in the world, and while working with him personally, we know his agility and quality are second to none. he’s as adaptable to any industry or brand as a chameleon in the desert and is equally as witty as James E. Spamm, Jr. so when we say fierce, we mean his work. it must be the umteen years as a creative director and president that attribute to his level of work. but get him out to lunch and he’ll tell you stories upon stories about his pet turtle, Yertle. (Yertle is a race turtle who eats rose petals to produce perfume. there’s that juxtaposition of fierce and funny again.)
we simply produced one of his many ideas for a business card to promote himself.
playing on the idea of dropping the card in the “free lunch” bowl, the back appropriately says:
the genius that he is, Steve devised this dual meaning for when his card is laying around a big wig’s desk, ie: Donald Trump, and he can’t find the right “ad” guy in the pool of freelance cards. the PICK ME line is just as beneficial.
playing on the hired gun (a term as aged as his experience), we had the idea to shoot a couple bullets through the card. on-target and on-time,
not to mention the cowboy that he truly is.
whether we decide to shoot up the lot of his cards, or not, steve is surely to win a free meal or he’s surely to be buying “Mr. Trump’s” next meal for winning the job.

and just for fun, if you spin the card on it’s center axis, you get one of those signs you see blowing in the wind at the smog shop.

if you need copy, feel free to call him. you can’t say we didn’t give you his number. he’s also LinkedIn… giddy up.
